Colouring Contest & Our Team
Customers often ask what we are working on during the year.... when we aren’t actually delivering Hampers.
In August, our operations team is kicking into high gear planning for their packing season, pre-packing sample boxes for the best fit, setting schedules and system testing. They are meeting with couriers, arranging warehouse setup, and have flow charts everywhere to make sure it all gets done.
Our purchasing team is working on both the current year’s food orders (Christmas 2013) as well as meeting with our vendor partners to see what is new & exciting for our Christmas 2014 catalogue. We look at new items, see what changes are happening, and get to test out some new food (which our team loves).
Our customer service team is really busy confirming every single deliver address for Christmas 2013, adjusting orders & helping customers arrange their final payments. As it’s less than 2 months to final payment date, there are lots of little details to arrange.
They have been setting up HeadStarts for Christmas 2014 for the last few months, as customers what to keep their payments going as soon as the current year is paid off. By starting early, they already have a credit waiting to choose their 2014 Hampers. The address confirmations are so important – even if we have been delivering to you for years & years! We want to make sure you haven’t moved, or that we have typed in all in correctly with phone numbers, emails & special instructions (which can change from year to year).
I am working on the Christmas 2014 campaign – the catalogue, new advertising, and new contests – as well as pulling together the various mailings & communication for Christmas 2013. Sometimes it’s hard to remember what year we are in when I’m looking 18 months ahead! Every year at this time, I like to go through all the catalogues since 2002, and see how we have grown and changed! I also get to announce the contests!!!
