A Freezer Cleanse

Christmas 2020 Hampers will be reaching homes across Canada very soon! This would be a great time to make sure your freezer is cleaned and ready to be filled with your favorite desserts, delicious proteins and tasty meals for the season.
With busy schedules and many things on the go, cleaning the freezer may not fall into your regular cleaning routine and sometimes doesn’t get as much attention compared to the fridge. However, over time our freezer collects food debris, sticky spots and frost buildup that needs to be properly tended to. It may sound like a daunting task, but never fear, Chrisco Canada is here!
Start by removing all items from the freezer and placing them in the fridge. Your frozen items will remain frozen and cold items will remain cold for about 4 hours in the fridge according to Canadian Food Inspection Agency. Next, unplug/disconnect your freezer to bring the temperature down. You’ll want to remove any racks or trays and give them a good wipe down as well. For the cleaning solution, mix equal parts warm water and vinegar and give the entire freezer a generous spray. You may need to repeat this step a few times depending on the condition of your freezer. Once fully wiped down and cleaned we need to make sure any wet spots are dry before plugging the freezer back in for business. Use a microfiber cloth as they don’t leave behind a trail of fluff. Final step – plug it back in and patiently wait for your Christmas 2020 order to arrive!
